Supporting Liptember 2022
During the months of September and October, KissKill is extending its support for Liptember. Liptember raises funds and awareness for women’s mental health. To find out more, click here. Here at KissKill, we are a female-run business therefore we value women’s health, especially, mental health. We pride ourselves on creating a safe and supportive environment.
Join us this month to show your support by checking in on one another or donating here. Touching base with the women around you will build them up, and unknowingly it will build you up too. Your mental well-being comes first; always has, always will.
For this Liptember, we have collaborated with Noir to launch a Lipgloss that matches our SERINA collection. Through the months of September and October, all proceeds of the lipgloss go to Liptember, in-store and online. Check out our SERINA sets to finish off your look.
Unfortunately, society is not always understanding of women or femme-presenting and their struggles, which can take a massive toll on our mental health. As this topic is a massive downer, we want to add a bit of sparkle to lift you out of those tough times.
Many of us women are denied of our struggles and sometimes the smallest things can brighten our day. The significance of lipstick is a subtle dose of support but support nonetheless provides a sense of solidarity. Us girls should stick together.
Biological factors like menstruation, pregnancy, miscarriages, and menopause, can alter our mental health day-to-day. However, it is not solely biological differences that contribute to mental health struggles but socioeconomic and cultural ones too.
Over the last twelve years, Liptember has raised $12 million. The foundation employs initiatives, programs and services to provide unique support to women. The foundation notes that 7 in 10 women under the age of 39 desire to take more time for their mental health but believe that other priorities take precedence. They also communicate that:
-
23% of pregnant women are experiencing perinatal anxiety and depression
-
18% of indigenous Australian women are battling substance use disorders
-
25% of women and non-binary individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community are living with eating disorders.
-
36% of women who are experiencing homelessness and poverty are also affected by psychological distress
The Liptember Foundation is using these alarming statistics as a pathway for change. Dab on your favourite lipstick or indulge yourself with ours and remember you are not alone.
